Florida Keys...
Vacation - time away from our normal schedule to rest, recreate, and replenish.
This last week my husband and I spent some time in the Florida Keys with my best friend and her husband. We have a mutual friend who owns a vacation home on the marina in Key Largo and she was generous in letting us spend our time together there.
It was a wonderful, low-key vacation, which allowed for plenty of down time and a lot of catch up time with our friends. It was a nice break from our usual fast-paced lives.
We took time to explore the Island, and mid-week, my hubby and I traveled down to Key West to explore there as well. We had the opportunity to visit Earnest Hemmingway's estate and spent the night at a nice hotel with an ocean view.
Our favorite day was spent with our friends at a resort called Playa Largo just up the street from our vacation rental and it was fantastic. We purchased a one-day resort pass from the location and had the best ocean-front lounge chairs on the beach for the day.
We've since returned to our home in Charlotte and we're recharged and ready to dive in. At least come Monday morning we will be. I snapped a few shots while we were there, but for the most part, I just tried to be mindful and present in order to stretch out the time as much as possible while we were there.
